Betty Ong

Betty Ong was the head flight attendant on Flight 11. Flight 11 first plane to be hijacked and crashed into the North Tower on 9/11. During the hijacking of the plane, Betty managed to contact the American Airline's Operations to let them know of the situation. She was the first person to indicate that the United States was under attack. Her phone call eventually led to the shut down of all flights nationwide. She managed to remain calm for the 23 minutes she was on the phone, and this is why I believe she was a hero on 9/11.
